We couldn't have made it happen without your votes!
We are your official source for dog park updates!
Conway’s Dog Park officially opened May 2015. After many years of waiting to provide a safe and fun place for your dog to run and play, Conway now has that place. The park was made possible through the concerted effort of the Humane Society of Faulkner County, the City of Conway and your vote for “Bark For Your Park” PetSafe dog park contest. We couldn’t have done it without you!
It all started with a dream.
In April of 2013 a committee of dedicated volunteers at the Humane Society of Faulkner County and the City of Conway had a meeting with dreams of finally bringing a dog park to Conway. However, finding the funds to build the park was the biggest obstacle. Soon after that meeting, a Humane Society Volunteer searched online and found PetSafe's "Bark For Your Park" dog park contest. HSFC entered Conway into the contest and then launched a daily voting campaign on the Humane Society's FB page. With UNWAVERING SUPPORT, the community voted daily for almost 90 days and made winning $25,000 to build a dog park possible! The City of Conway then pledged to match another $25,000 and the construction of the dog park began! Construction of the park was built by Parks and Recreation.
The park offers two fenced in areas with benches and doggy water fountains. Dogs have a large area, shaded by trees, to run and play. Now dogs have a place to be social and meet other dogs to hang out with. The new park is located behind the Don Owen Sports Complex at 10 Lower Ridge Rd., in Conway.
